The Lung Health and Immunity Lab (Campo Lab) investigates how the innate immune programs shape outcomes in respiratory infections and chronic lung disease. We study new mechanisms that determine protection or susceptibility to respiratory pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis with the goal of developing more effective, targeted therapies.

Our mission is to transform the understanding of human lung immunity in ways that improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of respiratory diseases. We envision a future where innovative science, inclusive training, and strong community partnerships lead to healthier lungs for all.
