Monica Campo, MD, MPH, is a physician-scientist in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She is also a faculty member of the Center for Immunology, where she leads the Lung Health and Immunity Lab. Her research focuses on how the human immune response in the lung determines protection or susceptibility to respiratory infections. Dr. Campo's work is supported by the National Institutes of Health, private foundations, and the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Campo was born in Colombia and completed her medical degree at Universidad El Bosque. She trained in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and did a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington, where she developed her expertise in human immunology and translational lung research. She joined the University of Minnesota in 2022, where she established her independent research laboratory.
